Mount Rainier as viewed from Paradise is

awe-inspiring and may one day erupt like

other volcanoes along the Ring of Fire.

The North Cascades Highway is the gateway

to the Paci¿c Northwest and the most northern

(and one of the highest) paved mountain

passes in Washington state and for that

reason is closed in winter. (above)
