surprising these pieces won

ello there! I thought I’d share my wedding sampler, which
I found in one of the back issues on digital download from
issue 216 (April 2014). I have made it for some special friends – I
hope they like it! I changed the colour of the rings to platinum
and replaced the French knots with Mill Hill petite seed beads in
matching colours and added a few extra, which I think finishes it
off perfectly. I also framed it myself.
I really enjoyed making it and I’m very pleased with the result.
I’m sure I’ll make it again for another happy couple!
Alison Stewart, via email
Emily: We are big fans of this wedding sampler from Lesley
Teare, so it’s fun to revisit it with your letter and photo, Alison.
Wedding samplers are a tradition that go back hundreds of years
and this up-to-date modern version is a keeper. Plus, with your
creative tweaks, of course your friends will be chuffed, Alison!

ello there. I’ve stitched
the ‘Seaside Puffin’ just
like Maria Hutchinson, who
is on the letters page of issue
280 (May 2019). She wrote
that she was unsure how to
finish her puffin. Here is mine
in a framed picture, which
I gave to my friend for her
birthday as she likes puffins.
Julie Reade,

Sue: Thanks, Julie. This lovely
chart is by Amanda Gregory
and featured in issue 255
(April 2017) of the mag.

I

stitched this customised chart from KLT Charting for my
dog’s groomer, which I did on hand-dyed KLT fabric. She
is a mobile groomer with the amazing looking Oggie and is
always fully booked! I thought you’d like to feature this.
Kirsty Nash, via email
Tina: Well, isn’t your dog’s groomer looking super pleased
with your customised cross stitch, Kirsty? This is a fun idea.
