Meet our guests

How’d you start stitching?
My love of stitching started in
kindergarten. I remember the
teachers poking a pattern of holes
into cartons and then we would
backstitch them with thread. I
immediately got addicted! When my
mother saw this, she introduced me
to cross stitch – I really can’t thank
her enough for that!
Your best stitching tip?
I’ve always been ever grateful to
whoever taught me the loop method
for beginning to stitch. It’s the perfect
way to start stitching, and it looks so
neat from the back too!
Recent fave WOXS design?
I liked issue 287 (Dec, 2019) because
it reminded me that Christmas was
just around the corner. My favourite
design from that
issue were the ‘City
Snow Globes’. I
loved making them
as presents for my
family this year.

What has been your favourite
cross stitch project?
I’m still working on a project called
‘Cycling Bear’ from issue 280 (May,
2019) as this bear design is one of the
cutest designs I’ve come across!
Fave recent WOXS design?
The ‘Panda
and Balloons’
design in
this issue is
absolutely
adorable!
I love the
cute colours
and the
expression on
the panda’s face.
What do your family and
friends think of your hobby?
My family and friends like to receive
my cross stitch cards and sometimes
enjoy making them for themselves. I
always feel so proud when I hear from
my loved ones when they receive a
special stitchy card I made for them.

How’d you get into stitching?
I started when I was an intern. I
would stitch small projects while
waiting for patients to be admitted.
That helped keep me awake all night.
What was the last thing you
stitched as a gift for someone?
I made a picture insert for a wedding
album cover for my daughter and
son-in-law. I put together the Furry
Tales’ bride and groom patterns.
Fave WOXS design?
I love ‘Blackwork Sampler’ by Fiona
Baker from issue 280 (May, 2019).
I got to practise blackwork and I also
made a biscornu with it.
What’s your cross
stitch heaven?
An interesting fact
about me is that I
own maybe 2-3,
cross stitch books,
booklets, mags and
patterns! Someday
I’d like to be able to
catalogue these.
