1 Trim some card slightly longer than your
desired tassel length and about 4cm (1½in) wide,
then cut a large notch into the top and bottom
edges. Attach an approx. 15cm (6in) length of
thread along the top of the card with some
masking tape, with the ends extending
beyond the card.
2 Wind your thread around the card,
from top to bottom, using as little or as much
thread as you want to get your desired width of tassel.
Once done, remove the masking tape and tie the length
of thread around the wrapped threads at the top. Cut
through the wrapped threads along the bottom edge
and then remove the card.
3 Wrap more thread around near the top of your tassel
to create a ‘neck’. Sew the ends of the thread into the
tassel so that they are secure and they disappear. Finish by
trimming the tassel to neaten.
