HOT WATER BOTTLE COVER

differencetoyourhottie!1 Insert the point of the right-hand
needle through the loops of the
next two stitches as if to knit.
2 Wind the yarn round the tip of the
right-hand needle and pull the yarn
through the two stitches, knitting
them both together.3 Drop the two stitches from the
left-hand needle and keep the new
stitch on the right-hand needle.4 Knitting two stitches together
decreases your stitch count by one,
and the decrease stitch leans to the
right. This is how a series of k2tog
decreases will look.STEP-BY-STEP K2TOG KNIT TWO STITCHES TOGETHER
Row 5 (K2tog) 6 times, K1. [7 sts]
Break yarn and thread through rem sts. Pull tight to fasten.
CHIMP EARS (MAKE 2)
Using the long-tail method, cast on 31 sts using 4mm needles and
Yar n A.
Start at the outer edge.
Rows 1 to 2 Knit.
Break Yarn A and join Yarn B.
Rows 3 to 4 Knit.
Row 5 (K2tog) 15 times, K1. [16 sts]
Row 6 Knit.
Row 7 (K2tog) 8 times. [8 sts]
Break yarn and thread through rem sts. Pull tight to fasten.
MAKING UP
Block the Hot Water Bottle Cover, following yarn care instructions
on the ball band.
Sew the Face onto the front of the Cover as follows:
1 The cast-on edge (bottom edge) of the Face is attached 12 rows
up from the bottom edge of the Cover. Use mattress stitch to sew
the side edges, and duplicate stitch for the cast-on/off edges, as
you would to sew on a patch pocket but, before finishing the seams,
add a handful of toy filling inside the bottom of the Face to pad out
the nose.
2 For each Eye, sew the side edges tog to make a circle.
3 Sew the Eyes onto the Face using backstitch and Yarn B, sewing
around the outer edge of each Eye. The Eyes are positioned
approximately 2cm below the Face top edge.
4 For each Ear, sew the side edges tog to make a circle. Sew the
Ears onto the Face using backstitch and Yarn B, sewing around the
first Yarn B row of each Ear.
5 Embroider the nose in black yarn just below the Eyes, using
several vertical stitches. Embroider the mouth using long stitches.
6 To finish, sew the 2 black buttons onto the Eyes.
