FATHER - I GET IT - I GOT IT - I FIGURED IT OUT

We all have a story. Most of us have many stories. Don 't take your positive
afrmations with you. Share them and share them often. Those stories are for
the young.
It's history! It's your history! It's their history! If not you, who will?
YOU FIGURE IT OUT!

PS...I would like to acknowledge a special group of fathers I've known a minimum of 40
years. They are a part of my village and my "Band Of Brothers". In my eyes, they have
proven to be exemplary father prototypes and have stood the test of time. I have to
hold the line at 40 years to keep my list short.

These gentlemen have helped me become a better man, however, I do not include
myself in this group of exemplary fathers. I've witnessed each do things I might have
not done for my own kids. It's a joke---None of them would think themselves special.

Like one of my favored fathers would often joke "You must love your young'uns more
than I love mine". I still laugh at some episodes when that slogan applies. Like my
father, I simply tried to do my best. I know they also tried. They gured it out.

Their names are in alpha order - Willie Bowden, Crosby Coleman, Ricky Daniels,
Johnnie Horne, Bennie Hudson, Willie Jackson, John Osborne, and Ron Wright. I have
other friends who are exemplary fathers, but this group is by age of friendship. Again,
I've had a friendship with these guys at least 40 years. They gured it out!

They all understand that Father's Day is once a year, but Fatherhood is a lifetime
and a day.

I also want to make a special acknowledgment to my Father-In-Law of 40 years, Elbert
Denby, a true Patriot, a Commander of men and the King of Common Sense. He was
not an adolescent mentor but has excelled as my adult mentor...Thank You.
