Glow as part of Amazon’s kid’s services such FreeTime. By agreeing to this,
you’re allowing Amazon to collect information about your child or children,
including their name, birthday, and email address. This also gives Amazon
permission to access your child’s photos, videos, and location information. Once
I agreed to the above terms, the Glow installation was complete.
The light delivered nice, soft colors in testing, but as previously mentioned, it’s
not very bright. That said, cycling through the color palette using tap control is
easy, as is changing colors and brightness levels using Alexa voice commands
and the mobile app.

afternoon with the color set to blue and it followed this routine without fail. It
also had no trouble following my Alexa routine to have the Glow turn on with a
red color whenever an Arlo Pro 3 camera detected motion.
CONCLUSIONS
Designed with kids in mind, the Amazon Glow is a fun little mood light or
nightlight that can be included in Alexa routines to let your child know when,
say, it’s time to get ready for bed. It can also be used to tell you when an Alexa-
enabled camera or doorbell has been triggered. The Glow delivered soft, colorful
light in testing and had no trouble responding to Alexa voice commands and
routines. But a more powerful bulb would be a welcome addition, especially if
you’ll be using this device as a bedside lamp. Additionally, support for IFTTT
would allow it to interact with smart devices outside of the Alexa ecosystem.
If you’re looking for an LED bulb that does it all, consider the $25 Yeelight
