TheEuropeanSecuritiesandMarketsAuthority(ESMA)is organisingselection

proceduresforthepostofthe“ChairoftheCCPSupervisoryCommittee

andDirectorforCCPs”andfortwopostsof“IndependentMemberofthe

CCPSupervisoryCommitteeandDirectorforCCPs”.

Theselectedcandidateswillbefull-timeindependentprofessionals,members

of ESMAstaff,basedin Paris.Foreachof thesepoststhetermof officeis five

yearsandmaybeextendedonceforanother5 years.

TheCCPSupervisoryCommittee

ThereviewoftheEuropeanMarketsInfrastructureRegulationwillenhance

theroleofESMAinrelationtotheauthorisationofCCPsestablishedin

theEuropeanUnion(EU-CCPs)andtherecognitionofthird-countryCCPs

(TC-CCPs)andprovideESMAwithdirectsupervisoryresponsibilitiesover

systemicallyimportantTCCCPs.

Therefore,ESMAwillestablishtheCCPSupervisoryCommitteewhichis

composedofa Chair,twoIndependentMembersandrepresentativesofthe

nationalcompetentauthorities,withanauthorisedCCP,asvotingmembers,

aswellascentralbanksofissuethathaverequestedmembershiptothe

Committeeasnon-votingmembers.
