Stay sharp
In the Adjust panel, pinch to
zoom in for a closer look at your clip.
Drag the Sharpness control slider
downwards to tease out more texture
and detail. Tap on the screen to toggle
between the Before and After versions.

Incorrect exposure
If you’re shooting a high contrast
video, your device may struggle to
capture detail in both the shadows and
highlights. In this clip, our iPhone has
exposed for the sky, so the shadows
lack detail. The colors are a bit drab too.

Adjust clarity
Tap the Definition icon. By
dragging the control slider downwards
you can increase midtone contrast.
This tweak helps delicate textures, such
as our clip’s blades of grass and the
dog’s fur, pop out even more.

Selective
adjustments
In the Adjust panel, tap Shadows. Drag
the slider down to selectively lighten
shadows and reveal more detail. Tap
Highlights and drag the slider up to get
more color and detail in the bright sky.

Add a vignette
Darkening (vignetting) the
edges draws attention to the brighter
centre of the frame. In the Adjust
panel, tap on Vignette and drag the
slider down to darken the edges (or
up to lighten them). Tap Done.

Enhance color
To ensure you have some strong
black pixels (and a nice contrast), drag
the Black Point slider down a few
notches. Tap Vibrance and drag the
slider down to boost weaker colors
without over–saturating stronger ones.

ADJUSTABLE FILTERS

Change colors and tones quickly

If you’re in a hurry to share a clip on social media you can slap a filter on it to alter
its colors and tones in a variety of creative ways. You can even dial down the
intensity of the applied filter’s look using a slider to produce a more subtle result.
Filters can also be used to complement other adjustments that you’ve already
applied to the clip. Here we’ve added the Silvertone filter to an edited clip for a
more grungy, urban monochrome effect and then dialled back in a hint of original
color using the filter’s control slider.
