8 / APPLY TO HARDWARE
Most foam sheets will have backing that needs to be removed to reveal
the self-adhesive surface. The adhesive is very strong, and it’s unlikely
you’ll be able to remove once the sheets are fitted, so only remove the
backing once you’re ready.

4 / REMOVE UNUSED CASE FITTINGS
Customising your noise-absorbing foam means you can maximise its
use in your case, so it’s worth removing any fittings that you’re not using,
such as empty drive bays, to enable you to lay down more material.

5 / CLEAN CONTACT AREAS
Before installing the foam sheets, clean the areas you want to cover using
a surface cleaner or polish to remove dust and grime. Otherwise, the
sheets may not adhere properly and start to peel over time.

7 / TEST-FIT FOAM
Once you’ve cut out the foam sheets to your needed sizes, test-fit them
in your case, prior to removing the protective backing, to make sure they
fit. You can then trim the edges as necessary.

6 / CUT TO SIZE
Use a Stanley knife or a large pair of scissors to cut the foam sheets to
size. Minimise wastage by cutting out sections from the edges of the
sheets, using the pre-cut edges to reduce the amount of manual cutting.

9 / FIX TO CASE
Once you’re sure you’re ready to install the foam, press it firmly into
place, smoothing over the whole surface to ensure the whole sheet is
secure. If some corners start lifting further down the line, you can use
a glue gun sparingly to reattach the sheet.
