The18,000DPIsensorwillbeoverkillformainstream

gamers– it’sunusablysensitiveif usedatitsmaximum.

Yetthathugesensitivityceilingmeansyoucantailorthe

SteelSeriestoyourpreciserequirements.It’sidealforfast-

paced,twitchygameswhereaccuracyandspeedmakea

realdifference.Theoptionofswitchingtoa highsensitivityis

alsoa boonformulti-monitorandwidescreensetups.Users

cantraversemonitorswithouthugemousemovements.

Elsewhere,theSensei’ssensorservesupa 450in-per-

sectrackingrate,a 50gaccelerationlevelanda 60million

clickendurancerating.Thosetwoformerfiguresmatchthe

moreexpensiveRazer,andtheenduranceratingis ten

millionclicksbetter.

TheambidextrousSenseihaseightbuttons:left,right,a

DPIswitcher,thescrollwheel,andpairsofbackandforward

clickersoneitherside.Themainbuttonsusemechanical

hardware,andthey’retremendous– fast,consistentand

robust,witha tinybitmoremovementthanyou’llfindon

manyothermice.Thebuttonsareextremelywellbalanced–

fastenoughforcompetitivegamingandsturdyenoughto

withstandfreneticplay.Therestofthebuttonsarefine,but

Buildqualityis consistentlygood,andtheSenseiis lighter
thantheRazer.It’slongerandnarrowertoo.Thesize,reliable
shapeandgrippysurfacemeansthatit feelscomfortable
unlessyouhaveunusuallylargehands,andit canbeused
withfingertip,claworpalmgripswithequalaplomb.
TheusualSteelSeriesEngine3 softwareis usedto
managethismouse,andit’sa reliablygoodbitofsoftware–
welllaid-out,witha broadrangeofoptions.Handily,five
differentprofilescanbestoredonthemouse,althoughthey
needtobeswitchedusingthesoftware.

Conclusion

TheSteelSeriesSenseiTenis a verygoodoptionforesports:

it’smoresensitiveandhasbetterendurancethanitsmain

rivals,it hasa solidambidextrousdesign,anditsmain

buttonsareexcellent.It’salsoa littlecheaperthansome.

Conversely,it doesn’tlookaseye-catchingastheRazer,and

thatmousehasslightlymore consistentbuttons.Also,

consideringthelackoffeatureshere,theSenseiis rather

expensive.Thismeansthatit can’tquitetoppletheRazeras

ourambidextrousfavourite,butit’sa superbalternative.
