Over to You

I

am so thrilled with this
design by Joan Elliott
called ‘Fairy of the Wind’.
It’s a new series of hers that
I plan to complete. I stitched
her on an opalescent fabric
called ‘Scattered Leaves’ by
Silkweaver Fabrics*. She took a
long time to complete but well
worth it!
Janie Holmes,
Ontario, Canada

Sue: I’m a big fan of Joan
Elliott’s designs and I have
this pattern from her ‘Faerie
Enchantments’ series on
my to-stitch list! I love the
shimmer finish with the seed
beads and Kreinik metallic
thread – this pretty fairy
really stands off the lovely
hand-dyed fabric.
Please do share the other
designs from the series once
they’re stitched – we’d love to
see how they all turn out.

our chickie design in issue
279 (April 2018) looked
adorable on my Easter basket
which I delivered to my next door
neighbour who is also a cross
stitcher. I thought you would enjoy
seeing the final result.
Jan Winning,
California, USA
Emily: What a lovely idea, Jan! I bet your neighbour was very
pleased when they opened their front door to find this basket
of treats waiting for them!
It’s nice to see the designs from Jenny Barton’s Easter ‘Egg
Hunt Set’ being used in a different way. Look out for more fun
Easter-themed designs in issue 292 (April 2020), out next month.

i, I just wanted to share
the attached photo
with you. I have just got
back from Bulgaria. I love the
little Mouseloft* kits and my
daughter bought me this one
for Mother’s Day and I saved it
for my holiday.
These kits are ideal for
holidays – they are just the
right size for stitching on your
balcony in the afternoon when
it’s too hot to sit around the
pool or the beach!
Thank you very much for
a great magazine.
Penny Swiffen,
Holmfirth
Hannah: I agree – those kits
are so handy for stitching on-
the-go or when on holiday!

I

thought I’d share with you my ‘Practically Perfect’
peacock design by Wrendale Designs that I stitched for
my nan’s birthday this year. She was completely surprised
and loved it! I really enjoyed stitching it with all the vibrant
colours, and knowing that she’ll always treasure it makes
the hours of stitching completely worth it!
Kerry Bull, Bath
Tina: Your nan looks so happy to have received your
beautiful stitched design, Kerry! Well done!
