Project Mother’s Day Cards

DESIGNED BY EMMA CONGDON

Who could resist the heartfelt sentiments of these

stunning keepsake cards and tags?

the word

T

his year, Mother’s Day is on
Sunday 22 March, and we have
the most gorgeous card and tag
set to create for the big day. Fall in
love with Emma Congdon’s designs,
with their vibrant sky-blue, pinks and
greens. Yet, it’s the lovely wording
and their touching messages that
have the ultimate impact – a true gift
for all the beloved mamas.
If you’re a beginner, the gift tags
are quick-to-stitch. Plus, there’s a
good mix of cross stitch, fractionals
and backstitch across all the designs,
to keep you busy without them
being too lengthy or complicated.
Once complete, enjoy getting crafty
with card stock by patching on your
stitching. We chose single creased

square cards (120x120mm) in Candy
Pink from PDA Card & Craft. There’s
also the candy-striped string to match
the pastel of the tags’ backgrounds,
but you can go with any colours to
match the stitching. How about the
pine green, or the lovely tangerine for
your coloured card and string?

I chose to make the wording the real
centrepiece of these cards, with the small
flowers and framing very strong but not too
fussy. While the tags match the motifs from
the designs, they also stand alone.
