The Pastel Society’s annual exhibition showcases the work of ARTpicks^
leading contemporary artists as well as introducing work by
emerging talent selected from the open submission. Writing
about the forthcoming show, Clare O’Brien, director of the
Federation of British Artists at the Mall Galleries, describes the
exhibition as: ‘a breath of fresh air for art lovers and collectors.
The portability and immediacy that working in pastels allows
means the show has many examples of works created outside of
the studio, whether on the coast, roaming the moors, in crowded
Indian street markets or quiet café gardens, historic churches or
capturing the magic of the Royal Ballet.’
Member artists will be demonstrating their working processes
for visitors alongside workshops focusing on speciic aspects of
pastel painting. The Pastel Society’s annual exhibition is at the
Mall Galleries, The Mall, London SW1, from February 5 to 16.
