Love Patchwork & Quilting - UK (2020-02)

You have a great blog with lots of
tutorials. Do you feel that blogs
are still an important part of the
online quilt community?
Definitely! When I first started
quilting that is what social media was
for the quilting community. Sharing
your photos on a blog post, linking
up to other quilters. I had a fun
sidebar with all of my favourite blogs
that I followed. Writing tutorials came
when I wanted to share the steps of
the project I was making – and this
led to working with different
companies as a design team
member. I feel like my experience in
writing free tutorials for so many
years helped with my photography
and how to give clear instructions for
a project. I don’t think Instagram is
always going to be around, it has
already changed so much that it’s not
as much fun to share and keep up
with everyone like it used to be.
I hope that I can put some more time
back into my blog this next year and

What are your favourite kinds
of quilt to sew?
Throw size quilts are, for sure, my
go-to size. I want to make so many
quilts, so something I can have out
during different holidays or seasons
thrown on the couch makes me the
happiest. They are large enough that
you can use a prints or solids
collection, and are still manageable
to quilt on a domestic machine.

How many quilts do you think
you’ve made so far throughout
your career?
This is the time I wish I had a page
on my website with a photo of every
quilt I have made. Sadly I have lost
count. There are several quilts I make
as samples for quilt markets that
I rush to mail before I can even get
a great photo, or a baby quilt that
I gift before taking a photo. I know
for certain I have made over 40,
because that is the number of quilts
currently in my studio!
