fingerpresstofindthecentre.Markthis
witha removablefabricmarker.Transferthe
bunnyfacetemplate,centringalongthis
line,andplacingapprox2indownfromthe
topedge(FigB).Applyfusiblebatting to
the wrong side of the panel.

Usetwostrandsof embroiderythread
toembroiderthefaces.Debbieused
Frenchknotsfortheeyes and a cross for
the mouth (Fig C).

Placethepanelontopof theremaining
pieceof sewin foamandbastearound
theedgesasbefore.Alsotopstitchalong
thetopof theseamjoiningthepatchwork
striptothemainfabric piece. Trim away
anyexcessfoam.
MAKINGTHEEARS

Applythefusiblebattingtothewrong
sideof eachmainfabricear.Markthe
twolinesfromthetemplateontheright
sideof eachliningfabricearpiece,using
a removablemarker.Placeeach main fabric
ear RST with a lining ear.

Sewalongtheouteredgeof eachear,
leaving the base open for turning. Trim
thepointsandnotchthecurves,being
carefulnottocutintoyourstitching.Turn
eachearrightsideout,rolltheedges and
finger press around the edge.

Takeoneear,andfoldin halftofindthe
centreofthebase.Bringeachmarked
lineto thecentreandfingerpress,thenpinin
place.Bastealongthebottomedgetopleat
the ear. Repeat with the other ear (Fig D).

matchingtheshortrawedges.Sew
alongthisshortedgeusinga in seam
and press the seam open.

PlacethemainpanelRSTwiththebase
circleandpinorclipin place.Withthe
basecircleonthebottom,sewin placeon
yourmachine,workingslowly,andpivoting
as necessary with the needle down.

Sewtheshortedgesoftheremaining
liningstrip,asin step16,butleavingan
approx 3in gap for turning, backstitching
at eachendtosecure.Sewto the lining
base circle as in step 17.

Withthebasketturnedrightsideout,
placeinsidethelining,sotheyareRST.
Matchtheseamsat thebackandtuckthe
earsdownbetweenthe two layers. Pin or
clip in place (Fig F).

Sewaroundthetopedge.Turnthe
basketrightsideoutthroughthegap
in thelining.Sewthegapusinga ladder
stitchandpushintothebasket.Press
around the edge, and topstitch in place.
