Applytheinterfacingpiecetothe

wrongsideofyourFabricG pocket

piece,aligningat one edge to cover half

ofthefabric.

Foldthepocketpiecein half,RST,so

thefoldedpiecemeasures 12 in x

7 in.Sewaroundtheouteredges,leaving

anapprox6ingapalongthelongedge

andbackstitchingat eachend.Trimthe

cornersandturnrightside out. Push out

thecorners and press.

Topstitchalongthefoldededgeof

thepocket(FigG).Note,yourturning

gapwillstillbeopen, and will be secured

in thenext step.

Placeoneliningpiecerightsideup

onyourworksurface.Centreyour

pocket, placing it 3in from the bottom

edge.Pinin place.Topstitcharoundthe

edgeofthepocket,ensuringtocatchthe

foldededge of the turning gap as you go.

aroundthesidesandbottom,leaving

anapprox6ingapin thebottomfor

turninglater.Backstitchat thebeginning

andendof each seam to secure.

Turntheouterbagrightsideout.Place

insidethelining,RST,aligningseams

andwiththehandlestuckeddownbetween

thelayers.Pinorcliparoundthetopedge.

Stitcharound the top of the bag.

Turnthebagrightsideoutthrough

thegapin thelining.Useladder

stitchtoclosetheopeningin thelining,

thenpushtheliningdowninsidethebag.

Pressaround the top edge, then topstitch.

Sewa rectanglearoundthehandle

end,pivotingwithyourneedledown

at corners.Pivotagaintosewdiagonally

acrosstotheoppositecorner(FigH).Pivot

tosewacrossthebottomagain,going

overyourpreviousstitchingline,then

pivottomakethefinaldiagonal. Backstitch

tosecure the thread.
