Using Citron, cast on 24 sts.
Row 1 Purl.
Next row (K2, k2tog) to end. 18 sts
Change to White.
Next row Purl.
Next row (K1, k2tog) to end. 12 sts
Next row Purl.
Next row (K2tog) to end. 6 sts
Cut yarn and thread through.
Pull up sts tightly and secure. Sew

down from centre, shaping muzzle
into a triangle. Sew in position, adding

Make eyes by casting on 3 sts using
Black, sl1, k2tog, psso. Cut yarn and
thread through. Position eyes above
muzzle at the corners of the triangle.
Sew ends through to gap at base of
head and knot together securely.
Pull a strand from a length of Black yarn
and place to side. Use the 2 strands left
to work a triangular nose in straight sts,
using photo as a guide (nose should be
just under 1cm in length). Now work a
straight line below nose, with a curved
smile below, securing in the centre with
a little stitch. Use the single length of
Black to work a few tiny sts around

of Black at back of head and tuck inside.

Mane
Using Gold, cast on 49 sts.
St-st 6 rows.
Next row (K1, yfwd, k2tog) to last st, k1.
Starting with a purl row, st-st 6 rows.
Cast off purlwise.
With right side facing, fold in half
lengthways and sew seam tog, pulling
up tightly to curve as you go. Sew side
seams. Place around head, leaving
a 2.5cm (1in) gap at base and pin in
position. Sew mane to head. Sew head
to centre of comforter securely.
Ears (make 2)
Begin at outer edge using Citron and
cast on 10 sts.
Row 1 Knit.
Change to White.
Next row K2tog to end. 5 sts
Cut yarn and thread through.
Pull up yarn tightly to curve ear, giving
one straight side. Pin ears in position
either side of head in front of mane,
