Fringe
Place 17 tassels of fringe along
each of the cast-off and cast-on
edges as follows:
For each tassel of fringe, cut 4
strands of MC and 1 strand of
CC1 each 40cm long. Fold in
half and thread the loop from
RS through the outermost st
on the cast-off edge. Pull the
strand ends through the loop
and tighten carefully. Fasten 16
more fringe tassels along the
cast-off edge, then rep for cast-
on edge.

Finishing
Weave in ends and block
to dimensions given
in schematic.

This oversized scarf uses two
different yarns held together for
a beautiful texture. The piece is
worked with stripes and moss
stitch and inished with fringe
on both ends. Although it is
worked lat, a circular needle is
recommended to accommodate
the number of sts. Hold one
strand of MC and one strand of
CC throughout as instructed.

Sizing

Need to
know...
A simple fringe
Step 4: Keeping the yarn
strands folded in half, place
the yarn over the hook.
Step 1: For a 5cm-long fringe,
cut lengths of yarn around
15cm long. Cut lengths
individually or wrap the yarn
round a piece of cardboard
and cut across the top edge.
Step 5: Pull the crochet hook
through back through the
stitch to the WS, leaving a
loop of thread on the RS and
the loose ends on the WS.
Step 2: You can use one
strand of yarn per stitch of
the cast on/cast off edge
but you can vary this for a
thicker/iner fringe. Take one
or more strands of yarn and
fold in half.
Step 6: Pass the loose ends
through the loop and draw
up snugly.
Step 3: Insert a crochet hook
from the WS of the work to the
RS into the centre stitch of the
edge. Choose a crochet hook
that is one or two sizes
smaller than your needle size.
