Break CC and cont in MC only.
Work 8 (10, 10, 14, 14, 16)
rows in St st, ending after a
WS row.

Shape armholes
Cast off 4 (5, 5, 6, 6, 7) sts at
beg of next 2 rows. 87 (91, 97,
101, 107, 111) sts
Dec 1 st at each end of next
3 (3, 5, 5, 7, 7) rows, then on
foll 4 (5, 5, 6, 6, 7) alt rows.
73 (75, 77, 79, 81, 83) sts **
Cont straight in St st until
armhole measures 20 (20, 21,
21, 22, 22) cm, ending after a
WS row.

Shape Right Back
Neck & Shoulder
Cast off 6 (6, 6, 6, 7, 7) sts at
beg of next 2 rows. 61 (63, 65,
67, 67, 69) sts
Next Row (RS): Cast off 6 (6, 6,
6, 7, 7) sts, k until there are
9 (9, 10, 10, 9, 10) sts on RH
needle and turn, leaving rem
sts on hold for Left back neck.
Work on this set of sts only for
Right side of neck.

Cast off 3 sts at beg of next
row. 6 (6, 7, 7, 6, 7) sts
Cast off rem sts.

Shape Le Back
Neck & Shoulder
With RS facing and larger
needles, slip centre 31 (33, 33,
35, 35, 35) sts onto another
holder for neckband, rejoin yarn
to rem sts and k to end. 15 (15,
16, 16, 16, 17) sts
Cast off 6 (6, 6, 6, 7, 7) sts
at beg of next row, then 3 sts
at beg of foll row. 6 (6, 7, 7, 6,
7) sts
Cast off rem sts.

FRONT
Work as given for Back to **.
Cont straight in St st until 22
(22, 22, 24, 24, 24) fewer rows

This striped sweater is worked
 at in pieces in St st with
ribbed hem and cuffs. Stitches
are picked up to complete the
neckband in rib.
