Marcel is a loose- tting,
cropped jumper with a wide
neck and three-quarter length
batwing sleeves. Firstly, the
patterned central panels on
the back and front are worked
from the bottom up, and the
neckband is worked in 1x1 rib.
Next, the sts for the sleeves are
picked up from the row ends of
the panels, and the sleeves are
worked at in St st down to the
cuffs. Finally, sts are picked up
around the lower edges of Front
and Back.

“I love a boxy short jumper as it
can be worn over a dress or with
trousers or jeans. I named this
jumper Marcel as the pa ern
reminds me of Marcel waves, a
popular hairstyle in the 1920s
and 30s.”
