Position the base piece between the front and back pieces
with all the right sides facing outwards and whipstitch
them together, working through the unstitched edges.
2
Overstitch around the edge of the front and back, leaving
the bottom edges unstitched, working in coordinating
thread. Then, overstitch around the hole in both centres.
1
Once you’ve finished stitching, trim a one-square border
around the edge of your stitching. Take care not to snip
through any holes that contain stitches. Repeat for back piece.
3
In the same way that you coated the edges of your animal,
overstitch around the sides of the base in a coordinating
thread colour, leaving the top and bottom edges unstitched.
6
To finish, cut a short length of matching ribbon and tie it
around the neck of the animal, working it into a bow. Take
care to keep the egg secure in the middle as you do this.
5
Gently bring the front and back pieces of your animal up
together so they form a basket and then place your egg
inside so the top and bottom sit inside the holes.
