Arrangethetwogreenleavesoverthe
stem,sotheirpointsjustmeetin the
centre.Fusein place(FigA).Appliquéin
place.Tochangedirectionat theleaf
points,sewuptothepointandleavethe
needledownin thefabricrightat thetip.
Raisethepresserfoot,pivotthefabricand
continue sewing around the other side.

Layerupthethreeflowershapesand
centredot,overlappingthetopofthe
stemslightly,toformoneflowerhead.Use
a tapemeasuretocheckthattheflower
sitscentrallywidthways (Fig B). Carefully
fuse into position.

Appliquétheflowerheadin place,
stitchingthelargerflowerfirstand
workingyourwayinwards.Changeyour
threadcolourasyou go to match your
fabrics (Fig C).

Finally,positiontheorangedotsat an
equaldistanceeithersideof theflower
stem,usinga tapemeasureandreferringto
the photos for placement. Appliqué in place.

ofthecushionbackpiecesandturn

thelongstraightedgesunderbyin to

thewrongside.Foldoveragaintohide

therawedges,andpress.Pinand

topstitchalongtheseams.Trimeven

with the circular edge at each side.

Placethecushionfrontrightsideup.

Placethelargerenvelopebackpiece

ontop,RSdownwiththehemmededge

runningvertically.Placetheremaining

envelopebackpieceontop,RSdown,

coveringtheotheredgeofthecushion

front.Thetwohemmededgesshould

overlap,bothrunning vertically. Pin in

place (Fig D).

Stitcharoundtheouteredgeofthe

cushion,usingain seamallowance.

Zigzagstitcharoundtheouteredgewithin

theseamallowancetopreventthefabric

fromfraying.Turnthecushioncoverright

sideout,gentlysmooth the curves and

press to finish.
