yourcircles.Thesetwopartialcircleswill
formtheenvelopebackof yourcushionand
thewholecirclewillbethecushionfront.

PREPARINGTHEAPPLIQUÉPIECES

Traceonetulipcentre,twosmallpetals,
twolargepetals,onestem,twolarge
leaves,twosmallleavesandthreesmall
dotsontothepapersideofthefusible
webbing,leavingspacebetween each
one. Cut out roughly.

Fusetothewrongsideofyourfabrics,
followingthemanufacturer’s
instructions.Letcool,thencutoutthe
piecesalongyourdrawnlines,andpeel
awaythepaper.You should have the
followingpieces:

Folda cushionfrontpiecein half
verticallyandthenhorizontallyand
fingerpresstofinditscentrepoint.
Arrangethetulipcentre,positioningthe
bottomapproxin downfromthecentre.
Positionthestemin belowthe tulip
centre. Fuse in place (Fig E).

Appliquéin place,leavingtheareas
whichwillbeoverlappedunstitched,
andfinishingthreadstotheback,as
described in step 5 of the daisy cushion.

Repeatthelaststep,positioningand
sewingthelargepetalsandlargeleaves
(FigsF–G).Thenaddthepinkpetalsand
smallgreenleaves.Finishbypositioningthe
threeyellowdotsabovetheflower.Usea
tapemeasuretochecktheyareevenly
spaced (Fig H). Appliqué in place.
