Stitcher’s

guide

Our alphabet is
stitched onto
14-count white aida
in 16 different thread
colours. It contains
whole cross stitch and
backstitch only and, as
each letter only takes
a couple of hours to
complete, we think it’s
perfect for stitching
beginners.

Take a walk on the wild side with this wonderful safari alphabet – kids

will love having their name spelled out in roar-some stitches!

1

Find the centre of
your fabric by folding
it in half horizontally
and vertically. Find the
centre of the chart and
start stitching here, in
the centre of the fabric,
working outwards.

2

Work the cross stitch
first using two strands
of cotton. There are 16
different colours used
to create our alphabet,

so refer to the key as
you stitch to make sure
you are always working
correctly. Make sure all the
cross stitch is complete
before you move on to
the backstitch.

3

Add the backstitch
using one strand of
very dark grey cotton,
then carefully check over
your finished work and
prepare it for making up.
