Cross Stitch Favourites - UK (2020 - Spring)

Stitcher’s

guide

Our colourful owls
are stitched onto
14-count white aida
using whole cross
stitch, fractionals,
backstitch and French
knots. Each one takes
around 10 hours to
complete, so we think
they’re perfect for
advanced beginners.

You’ll have a hoot stitching these funky

owl cards – they’re sure to brighten

someone’s special day!

there

for you!

1

Find the centre of your
fabric by folding it in half
horizontally and vertically.
Follow the arrows on the chart
to find its centre and start
stitching here, working your
way outwards.

2

Work the cross stitch first;
cross stitch is worked in
both one and two strands of
cotton for these designs, so

refer to the key as you stitch to
ensure you are always working
correctly. Where you see a tiny
symbol on the chart, work a
fractional stitch in its place.

3

Add the backstitch using
one strand of cotton. Then,
work the French knots using
one strand of cotton.

4

Check your work and
prepare it for making up.
