When looking at
a landscape, it’s
important to simplify
the shapes. The
same is true when
you begin
an abstract.

Architectural shapes
like those found in
Frank Gehry’s Walt
Disney Concert Hall,
in Los Angeles, thrill
me. I rearranged those
shapes to make my own
narrative in Gathering
Energy (16x20).
