connect to your network and then leave
Samba enabled (with the toggle slider to the
right) and SSH disabled (slider to the left).
While SSH control can usually be helpful for
installing software remotely,LibreELEC is
such astripped-down andsleek OS that it
only allows softwareand updates to be
installed via the Kodi interface.
Once set up,you’ll need to install some
software to allow LibreELEC to use the TV
HAT. Select theAdd-ons section from the

left-handlistand then move to Search.
Entertvheadend,using either the onscreen
keyboard or aphysical USB one.Install the
item called ‘Services –Tvheadend Server 4.2’
(we foundtwo results, but both were forthe
same version of the same software, sojust
choose one). You’ll be offered achoice of
version to install, so select the most recent.
Once the TVHeadEnd Server has been
installed, you also need to install ‘PVR
clients –Tvheadend HTSP Client’.Again,we

found two results forthe same item, and it
didn’t matter which we installed.
To actually tune the TV HATtuner, you’ll
need to switch to another device. We’d
suggest alaptop or desktop PC, but you
could manage with atablet or phone.Open
aweb browser,enterlibreelec.local:9981
and hit Enter. This should take you to the
TVHeadEnd management web page; if not,
you might have to enter the actual IP
address of the Pi rather than the ‘.local’

⬆TVHeadEnd might look really confusing to start with, but follow our setup procedure and you’ll be done in acouple of minutes
