How to search better, and get access to
different tools to usefor different kinds
of information

Now that the TVHeadEnd server is set up,
you can access it from aweb browser or app
(search for‘tvheadendclient’) and stream
live TV via the Electronic Programme Guide
tab.Onyour LibreELEC system, head to TV
and then Guide.

BONUS CONTENT
To fully unleashLibreELEC’s capabilities,
open some of those other options in the
left-hand list, such as Music. You’ll seea
message asking whether you want to either
set asource foryour music (via the files
section) or remove this option from the
left-hand menu.
Once you choose the Enter files section
option, you have two choices: either play
music stored in the Music folder of
LibreELEC (copythe files over your network
to the LibreELEC device) or from aNAS. If
the latter, you’llneed to add the location of

your NAS by choosingthe +Add music...
option. Browse your network, choose the
correct folder, and you’ll be able to access it
as easily as the local Music folder andstream
your library through the LibreELEC device.
Use the same process forvideos (under
the Movies, TV shows or Videos categories)
and pictures. Youcan even add aweather
app,and the Add-ons section has options to
change the look and feel of LibreELEC, as well
as add extra capabilities. Search through the
Install from repository option to find new
options and tools.

You’ll still end up with quiteafew
duplicatechannels –two BBC Twos and so on
–sothe last job is to open the Channel/EPG
section of the Configuration tab and then the
Channels tab. This should give you alistof
the channels you can view.Click the Name
heading to sort the channels by name (to
reveal duplicates) and then highlight the
channels you really don’t want (the unnamed
channels and so on). Youcan do this by
Shift-clicking and Alt-clicking to select
multiple channels. Once they’re highlighted,
click the Deletebutton at thetop of the page.
By default there are 50 channels per web
page,soeither use the page navigation
buttons at the bottom leftofthe page,or
increase the number of channels perpage
at the bottom-right.
Now you can deal with those double
entries. Our duplicates were all BBC channels,
and to determine which to use and which to
untick, we used the Services column to see
the frequency each version of the channel
was using. As our broadcast mast is one of
the smaller ones, we guessed that it uses a
lower (less powerful) frequency; we therefore
unticked the 650MHz versions of BBC One,
Two, Four andParliament.
Equally, you can check the reception by
clicking the small, green Playbutton next to
each channel. Apopup will appear asking if
you’d like to open or save astrangely named
file; this is thelive TV video turned intoa
data stream, so select Open with and choose
VLC media player from the list (install VLC
forfree fromwww.videolan.org). Once you’ve
culled all your duplicatechannels, click Save
toward the top-leftofthe web page.
