Foolish Loving Spaces
Blossoms
The British band Blossoms might be best
known for their indie pop, but they have also
added art-funk, gospel and grooves to their
musical bow with Foolish Loving Spaces, their
third album. It all makes for probably their
most vibrantly varied release to date.
FIVE FACTS:
- Blossoms formed in 2013 before playing
their first gig at a cafe in the northern
English city of Manchester that same year. - The band’s members are lead vocalist Tom
Ogden, bassist Charlie Salt, percussionist
Josh Dewhurst, drummer Joe Donovan and
keyboardist Myles Kellock. - Blossoms released their self-titled first
studio album in 2016, before the second
studio album Cool Like You in 2018. - “I pushed myself into corners which I
wouldn’t normally go to,” Ogden told Apple
Music about his experience making the
new album. - He added that the album’s first two tracks,
“If You Think This Is Real Life” and “Your
Girlfriend”, are “trying to come up with a
story from scratch and do a different take on
a traditional kind of love song.”
