ikon’s D780 features a
24.5MP full-frame sensor
and Expeed 6 image
processor. The optical viewfinder
uses a 51-point dedicated phase
detection AF sensor, but Live View
employs the on-sensor phase-
detection AF system borrowed
from the Z 6. This means it’s faster,
with 273 AF points, and also offers
the convenience of eye detection.
Other D780 spec highlights include
up to seven frames per second
when you shoot with the viewfinder
(up to 12fps in Live View), an ISO
range extendable up to ISO
204,800 and down to ISO 50,
and dual UHS II SD card slots.
The Nikon D780 is due to
go on sale in early spring.

ere’s something you’ll see at the
Olympics this summer – Nikkor’s
120-300mm f/2.8 FL ED SR VR
(£9,499/$9,499) targets sport and wildlife
shooters, and slots in neatly between the
brand’s 70-200mm f/2.8 and 180-400mm
f/4. Nikon Z camera users get some new
glass, too, in the form of the Nikkor Z
70–200mm f/2.8 VR S (£2,399/$2,399).

T
he latest black-and-white only camera from the iconic
German brand is on sale now for £7,250/$8,295 (body
only). Some would say that’s an eye-watering price for
a camera that can’t capture images in colour, but this particular
Leica niche almost has a cult following. Specifications include
a 40.8MP CMOS sensor (although , with no colour filters, Leica
says the effective resolution is in fact higher), a top ISO setting
of 100,000, 5.5 fps shooting, and a 3in touchscreen LCD. There
are more than 25 native Leica M-mount lenses to choose from.
