I was a political photographer. Nobody really told
me, but maybe I’ve just not met those type of people.
But that’s interesting. I think that if you say that people
have made these comments, probably you then
have to specify what they consider [to be] political.
So you don’t consider your work to be political?
No.
Can you understand what they’re talking about?
I can understand, because certainly they also know
the situation and they identify with certain things that
are in the book (Wall), and either they react positively
or negatively to the book. I knew that this was going
to happen, but it doesn’t upset me at all.
Why do you choose to shoot panoramas
and landscapes?
If you look at photographers, many of them, as
they were getting older, they were more and more
photographing the landscape. There’s an enormous
difference in photographing a landscape and
