Street scene
Take to the streets for your
chance of being crowned this
month’s shooting champion
he street right outside your
front door is full of creative
photographic opportunities,
from capturing day-to-day
social interaction between
people to documenting exciting events.
There is rarely a dull moment – but even
when there is, empty street shots can
be interesting in their own right!
For this month’s shooting challenge,
we want you to take ‘Street Scene’ as a
starting point and see where you end up.
It could be that you go down the traditional
black-and-white route and document an
everyday scene; or you could go for a more
contemporary style and explore a new
approach such as long exposure. Look at
great street photographers such as Dave
Fieldhouse (davefieldhousephotography.
com) and Matt Hart (www.matthewhart
photography.com) for inspiration and tips.
As long as you are in a public setting,
you are free to take an image of anyone,
but we would advise to avoid children in
your shots – and if your subject gets upset,
respect their privacy and delete the image.

And the
Go Indoors
winner is...
Zuzana Spencer
In Digital Camera 224 we set you the
challenge of taking a masterful shot
indoors. Congratulations to Zuzana
Spencer! We love her interpretation of
the ‘Go Indoors’ theme with an image
that places a hot cup of coffee against
cold ice cubes, which look at first glance
like they’re sugarcubes. The image is
quirky and has been executed to
a high standard. Great work!
