Track the coronavirus spread
bit.ly/corona
As we write, there have been more
than 4,500 confirmed coronavirus
cases worldwide, and over 100
deaths, with both figures growing at
an alarming rate. This map uses data
from official health sources to show
where infections were recorded.

bit.ly/paris
Paris Musées, an organisation that runs
14 Parisian museums, has released
hi-res digital images of 150,
artworks into the public domain. These
include paintings from Monet, Picasso
and Rembrandt, and although the site
is written in a
mixture of
English and
French, you
shouldn’t have
much trouble
finding pictures
you like. You can
filter by museum,
time period,
artist and even the dominant colour in
the paintings. Once you’ve found an
image you want, you’re free to
download, modify and distribute it.
You can also learn about the artwork
and view related content.

Whether you have a cat, dog, iguana,
bird or hamster, this colourful new
online tool from Spotify will help you
create the purr-fect playlist for your
pet. It starts by asking if your little
animal friend is relaxed or energetic,
shy or friendly and apathetic or
curious before requesting his or her
name and allowing you to upload a
photo. Spotify then generates a list of
songs, synchronised with your own
musical tastes, that you can listen to
with your pet or share on social media.
A bit of Cat Stevens, maybe, or a few
raps from Snoop Dogg?

bit.ly/pubs
It’s a sobering thought, but there
are far fewer pubs and bars in the
UK today than there were in 2001.
This colour-coded map from the
Office for National Statistics shows
which areas have been most and
least affected. By selecting from a
drop-down menu, you can also
check the change in percentage for
your own neck of the woods.
