use aqua perle cotton to stem-
stitch edges of M bird body. Use gold
perle cotton to stem-stitch edges of N
and O feathers, backstitch centerlines,
and add a French knot at end of each
line. Lay out yellow perle cotton No. 3
along P wing perimeter; use blue perle
cotton to couch it in place. Use blue
perle cotton to make a French knot in
center of each Q circle.

Referring to pink bird in
Photo 8, use pink perle cotton
to stem-stitch edges of M reversed
bird body. Lay out teal perle cotton
No. 3 along P reversed wing perimeter;
use dark pink perle cotton to couch
it in place. Use dark pink and light

backstitches along edges of T piece.
Use teal perle cotton to make eight
French knots in T piece. Use dark pink

tail feathers and backstitch curls atop
