Handoff will work on all Apple Watches from the first generation through to
the current Series 5, requiring only watchOS 1.0 and above.

Select Messages app
Once the App Switcher is fully active on
the iPhone screen, you’ll see a button at the
bottom which, in this case, lets you launch the
Messages app. Simply tap it to open.

Write a reply
You’ll not only be taken straight to the
Messages app but to the messages thread
that you were previously viewing on your Apple
Watch. You can now reply using the iPhone.

Check your Watch
Anything that you write in reply on your
iPhone will be viewable on your Apple Watch.

To reach this screen, you
will have to launch the
Watch app on your iPhone,
select the ‘My Watch’ tab
at the bottom and choose
‘General’ from the list
of Settings.
Enable Handoff
Scroll down the screen and
you’ll see the option ‘Enable
Handoff’. Move the slider to
green and it will be instantly
activated. Now the option will
appear in the App Switcher.
