The Slow Rush
Tame Impala
The nature of time comes under focus with
Australian singer-songwriter Kevin Parker’s
The Slow Rush, which he has produced
under the banner of his musical project Tame
Impala. The album is also something of a
transition, reflecting the project’s past while
hinting at its future.
FIVE FACTS:
- Parker originally conceived Tame Impala
in 2007, with the first debut album credited
under the moniker arriving in 2010. - Since then, Tame Impala has released
another three studio albums and
attracted acclaim for its psychedelic and
hypnotic sounds. - Of The Slow Rush’s tracks, the earliest to be
released as a single was “Borderline” on April
12, 2019. - It was not until the following October 28
that the album’s second single, “It Might Be
Time”, was released. - Parker explained to Apple Music that
the track “Lost in Yesterday” refers to the
addictive, drug-like effect of nostalgia.
