The Day Shall Come

An impoverished Miami preacher, Moses
Al Shabaz (Marchánt Davis), voices
eccentric ideas about overthrowing the
US government. Funding for his scheme
is offered by a supposed Middle Eastern
terrorist body, but it’s actually a front for FBI
agent Kendra Glack (Anna Kendrick).

FIVE FACTS:

  1. The film is directed by the controversial
British satirist Chris Morris, who has attracted
attention and notoriety for his black humor.

  2. This is the first film Morris has directed
since 2010’s Four Lions, which also had a
    terrorist theme.

  3. Morris has also directed four episodes of
the political satire TV series Veep, starring
    Julia-Louis Dreyfus.

  4. The world premiere of The Day Shall Come
took place at South by Southwest in Austin,
    Texas on March 11, 2019.

  5. The critics’ consensus on Rotten Tomatoes
has hailed this “bleakly funny satire” for its
    “knotty real-world themes”.
