OUR STYLE MAKERS

THIS PHOTO Redesigning
the bonus room that lives a few
steps up from the kitchen was
one of the biggest challenges
for Jenni Holmes. Now this space
is a favorite place for family
game nights, a play spot for her
kids, and overflow seating when
hosting parties.

“TRADITIONAL WITH A

t wist .” That’s how Jenni
Holmes of Dear Lillie likes to
describe her decorating style,
but it wasn’t until she had her
first child and wanted to work
from home that she started
sharing it with the world.
“Being more introverted, I
initially thought starting a
blog sounded awful,” Jenni
says with a laugh. “It just
happened to be one of those
right-time-right-thing
scenarios that brought
the success.”
With a booming social
media presence, Jenni’s
brand has since evolved from
an online shop and blogging
space to a full-fledged
interior design business. Her
advice? Start small. “Luckily,
decorating isn’t life altering.
Most of our clients have been
dying to change their interiors
for years but have been too
scared to take the plunge,
and it doesn’t have to be that
scary,” Jenni says. “If you
want the rug, order the rug.”
