“If I’m in the kitchen, the girls are
with me,” Alea says. “Our favorite
things to watch on TV are the
cooking shows and competitions.”

girls’ shower—included in its design is the message “Oh hey” spelled out
in tile. Another bathroom is wrapped in playful swan wallpaper. Typically
a humdrum space, the Moore laundry room has been dubbed the “family
studio.” Here, a big center island is the hub for crafts, school projects, and
gift-wrapping, just for starters. There was no need for a formal dining room
in this laid-back family home; a sunny breakfast room would do just fine,
leaving more square footage on the floor plan for expansive living spaces.
They also hope to spend many meals and lots of time outside of the walls
and spaces they designed, roaming and romping around their 6 acres of
heaven on earth. As Alea says with the realization of a dream come true,
“The land—with the trees, the resurrection ferns, the spacious view of the
sunrise and sunset, and the space for our girls and pets to roam—it was the
perfect answer for the things that stir in our hearts.”
