Selecta singlecolumn
In theToolbox,clickandholdon theMarqueeTool icon,
then pick the Single Column Marquee Tool. Click on
part of the subject you want to stretch to select it, then pick
the Rectangular Marquee Tool (M), hold Alt and use it to trim the
selected column so it only covers the subject, not the background.

Stretch the pixels
Press Ctrl+T again to get
a Free Transform box
around the selected area. In the
Options bar, make sure Maintain
Aspect Ratio is inactive, then pull
on the middle handle of the box,
stretching the pixels out to the
edge of the frame. Click the tick to
finish and go to Select>Deselect.

Create a good
join between
the subject
and the new pixels
In the Layers palette
(Window>Layers), click on
the Opacity setting and
move this to between 50%
and 75%, ghosting out the
new pixels a little. Click the
Add layer mask icon, or
go to Layer>Layer Mask>
Reveal All. Hit B to pick the
Brush Tool. Press X to set
Black as the foreground
colour, and then using a
hard-edged brush at 100%
Opacity, paint down the line
of the subject to remove
some of the overlapping
pixels and make a neat join.

Make the subject level
Press Ctrl+A to Select All, then press Ctrl+T to enter
Free Transform mode. Now, move the cursor outside
the bounding box, then click and drag to rotate it until the subject
is horizontal. Pull on the corner handles to resize, filling any blank
spaces and click the tick when you’re done. Then press Ctrl+J.
