NotesThelettersareworkedthroughoutin
garterstitch.Inmanycases,two‘legs’ofthe
letterareworkedseparatelyatfirstandthen
joined,orbeguntogetherandarethenseparated.
Wherethisoccurs,leftandrightrefertotheletter
asit facesyouontherightside(ietheleft‘leg’
willbeontheleftasyoulookattheletter,nearest
toyourlefthand,andtheright‘leg’toyourright).
Withsomeletters,rownumbershavebeen
repeatedforeachleginturn.Formanyofthe
letters,therearepairsofdecreasesand
increasestomaketheworkleantoeithertothe
leftorrightwithoutaffectingthenumberof
stitchesremaining.Stitchcountsareonlygiven
for rows where the number of stitches is affected.

ForbagcharmsorkeyringsWesuggesttreating
theletterswithfabricstiffenerormakingtwoof
the required letter and sewing them together.
