Step 2

I drybrushed sepia paint onto the paper using irregular

and unevenly spaced strokes. I could have stopped at this

point, removing the tape once the paint had dried.

I placed 2-inch maskingtapeontheedgesof my paper and cut

irregular lines intothetapeusingasnap-blade utility knife.

I then removed the outside tape edge.

I removed the tapetorevealthefaux photo border,

which is now readyforthepainting inside. WA

Step 3
Instead, while the paint was still wet, I rinsed off the brush and
applied clear water to the still-wet paint edges. The paint spread
into the wet area and created a blossom effect, resulting in a
darker interior border with an interesting outside graduated edge.
