Still Here (watercolor on paper, 22x30)
Still Here represents the idea of childhood
memories versus reality. It considers how
those lines can blur, becoming confused over
time, especially in response to loss, old age
and—most signifi cantly—dementia. Th e
images in the artwork are realistically painted,
yet it was important to me that viewers be
able to interpret the painting in their own
way, based on their own life experiences. WA
