Th e Art Students League of New York,
where he was awarded a scholarship
to study oil painting, printmaking
and watercolor. While at school, he
orchestrated many opportunities for
artistic exchanges with professors and
students from across the globe, build-
ing his own circle of artists little by
little. He worked hard to seek new
and diff erent perspectives from unex-
pected places as he developed his
perspective as an artist.
Chow has been painting full-time
since 1992 and has been awarded fi ve
signature memberships with diff erent
watercolor associations in the United
States and Canada, as well as many
national and international awards
during his career.
Traveling to Beauty
For Chow, one of the most exciting
elements of the artist’s life is the
opportunity to travel to many diff erent
cities and countries. “I love to travel,”
he says. “In recent years, I’ve been
invited to participate in international
exhibitions, competitions, demonstra-
tions and watercolor workshops all
over the world.” He has visited
Italy, Spain, Portugal, China, India,
Switzerland, Albania, Turkey, Andorra,
Singapore, Gibraltar, Vatican City, the
United Arab Emirates, Nepal, Taiwan,
Hong Kong, Indonesia, Th ailand,
Vietnam and Myanmar. Th ese trips
off er an opportunity “to visit beautiful
scenes in places I’ve never been and
look for creative inspiration.”
Chow is particularly drawn to the
constant change inherent in cities.
“Every city and landscape in the world
has changed constantly since ancient
