Steps 18a-c.
Now it’s time to add all of your decorations. The first
detail I added was the gate. I used black Cake Lace for
this and the Ophelia mat. Although I could have taken
a section from the centre of the pattern, I actually used
either end of the mat so that I could use the edges to
look like the join in the gates. Adhere the Cake Lace by
brushing the cake with a small amount of piping gel and
gently pressing it on.

I’ve used the stone coloured sugarpaste to add part of a
brick wall and pillars to the gate. I’ve then added other
details such as bases to the pillars and mouldings using
an extruder and various moulds (such as the FPC Flying
Cherub Mould).

Steps 19a-e.
The bandstand is made from 2 x 4” CakeFrame platforms
and because CakeFrame rods would be too thick for this,
I’ve used CakeFrame adapters as posy picks to support
cake pop sticks.

Start by slotting one of the platforms over four collared
adapters. Add four collars to trap the platform in place.
Give both 4” platforms a layer of ganache and cover
them both in stone coloured sugarpaste. Turn the
second platform over (so the icing is on the bottom) and
secure a half polystyrene ball (or RKT) with ganache.
Cover the dome to look like stone as well.

Steps 20a & b.
Push the base of your bandstand into the top tier of
your cake (CakeFrame is food safe so can be directly
touching the cake) and add the cake pop pillars. Push
the top of the bandstand down (making sure the holes
in the platform line up with the pillars) to secure. Cover
the pillars in stone coloured sugarpaste and detail as
before.
