settings?I questiontheneedforthese

highISOsettingsin mostformsof

photographyandlookingat AP’s

8 FebruaryissueI canfindonlyone

publishedimagewheretheISOwas

setat 1600.Alltheothersarelower.

DavidTipling’sarticlein thatissueis

testimonytotheexcellenceof the

OlympusFourThirdssystemand,as

hemakesclear,thesuperbin-body

stabilisationsystemprettymuchnegates

the need to use ISO values above 400.

I havenoconnectiontoOlympus

otherthanbeinga happyamateur

userof anOM-DE-M1MarkII andits

outstandingProlenses,having

switchedfroma CanonAPS-Cset-up,

whichincludedtheexcellent100-

400mmL serieszoom.Myexperience

is thattheimagesfromtheOlympus

morethanholdtheirownagainst

thosefromtheCanon,whilstthelens

quality,weightandsizebenefits of

usingFourThirdsarepriceless.I do

geta bittiredof ill-informedand

largelyirrelevantcriticismof a system

thatdarestobedifferentfromthe

mainstreamPhilHeading
