We wereblessed by great
weatherthroughouttheopening
test, something youcan’t say
every year at Barcelona. There’s
a spot I really like on the inside
of Turn 3 which givesyou a
window of opportunity late in
the afternoon, as the sun falls
away behind the trees, creating
little pools oflight on the track
surface. At this point – just
before they come back round
onto the straight –the cars
are usually in the middle of
the track and not drifting out
towards the kerb.
This quality of light really
works nicely with the silver of
the Mercedes and I was very
pleased to see Lewis Hamilton
take to the circuit at just the
