It’s very encouraging when the
teams feel ableto send their
cars out right at thestart of
the first day of testing. From
my viewpoint at the top of
the circuit – looking back
towards Turn 10 – I could hear
the engines fire up at 9am.
Shakedowns and filming days
apart, this was the first lap of
the season for the RB16.
You can only do this shot
first thing in the morning
because the light becomes too
harsh as it gets towards midday
and beyond. Given the right
conditions, this angle gives you
a nice view of the surrounding
countryside – and enables you
to hide the rather unsightly
built environment in which
