#106 Charoen Krung Photo Walk | 18th September 2022

(Bangkok Photographers) #1

With the start point being on the comparatively unknown BRT system, it was delightful to see so

many photographers gathered for the latest Bangkok Photographers Group walk. A total of 37

photographers braved a cloudy day in the middle of an extremely wet rainy season to see what

Mark had found for us this time.

The route itself was worth the risk of rain. It followed some really narrow walkways alongside

some equally small waterways around a mostly residential part of town, giving us a unique flavour

of local life in Bangkok. Thanks again to Mark for his outstanding scouting.

We only got to the residental part of the route after a short walk following the main road.

Along the way, we passed a street sweeping crew that must have thought we’d mistaken them for

supermodels, given the amount of photographers who stopped for a shot or two. You can check

out the results on page 36.

In total, 27 of the photographers who attended the walk went on to submit photos for the

magazine, providing some really exceptional images for Greg to choose from. This was actually

a little disappointing, given that we were so close to 100 per cent of walkers submitting images

after walk #105. However, the slightly shorter issue actually worked in our favour this time as this is

our first attempt at getting the magazine out within less than two weeks of the walk. We hope to

see submissions back up following walk #107, though, as we love seeing your work!

As those who attended the celebration and release of our previous issue know, Dennie has

kindly returned to providing his feedback on the images published. It’s always good to get

alternative opinions on your photography as it helps us all to improve, and you can be sure that

Dennie won’t sugar-coat it! If you’d like to hear his opinion of your shots, remember to submit

them for the next issue and attend the event at Margarita Storm on Sukhumvit Road, by the

entrance to Soi 13. Hopefully we’ll see you there soon.

Have fun,

Greg, Ben and Mark.
